When I first found out I had Celiac Disease five months ago, one of my big frustrations was not knowing where I could go out to eat. I felt like I was spending so much time doing research before we could even figure out where to go. After finding some places that are suitable for people with gluten allergies, I thought I would share my list.
Gluten-free Restaurants:
-Costa Vida: Everything is gluten free except their flour tortillas and desserts.
-Wendys: http://www.wendys.com/food/pdf/us/gluten_free_list.pdf
-Arbys: www.arbys.com/food/gluten-free-menu.pdf
-Rumbi Grill: They offer a gluten free rice bowl and a salad.
-Applebees: www.applebees.com/~/media/docs/Applebees_Allergen_Info.ashx
-Chick-Fil-a: www.chick-fil-a.com/media/pdf/GlutenFreeItemsList.pdf
-Chil's: www.brinker.com/gr/allergens/Chilis%20Allergen.PDF
-Red Robin: www.redrobin.com/pdfs/Wheat_Gluten_Allergen_Menu.pdf
-McDonalds: nutrition.mcdonalds.com/getnutrition/ingredientslist.pdf
You have to search through their list of ingredients, but I usually get
sausage and eggs or ham and eggs. A good place for breakfast.
-Orange Leaf Yogurt: They have gluten free options and the have a little GF on the sign.
-Five Guys: Everything is gluten free except their hamburger buns.
I will add to the list as I come across more restaurants. My gluten free journey is just beginning and I have a lot of learning left to do.

Five Guys Burgers
My hubby and I went out the other night and I was craving something yummy, like a hamburger and fries. After some research, I found out that everything at Five Guys is gluten free except their hamburger bun. When we walked up to order, I asked the man about the menu just to make sure and he was very nice and helpful and told me it all was gluten free. He even walked over to the employee making my hamburger and asked him to change his gloves. They either cook your hamburger and wrap it in foil or wrap it in lettuce. I opted for lettuce because I thought that would be easier than cutting it with a knife and fork, but I ended up using a fork, anyway, because it was so messy. It was, however, very yummy. It is nice to know that there is a place that I can go to get a yummy hamburger fries.

Sweet Chicken Tacos
This recipe is super easy and super yummy. My whole family loves this dish and gobble it up.
Ingredients:
-Shredded chicken ( I buy Costco's rotisserie chicken and then shred the chicken and separate it into 2 freezer bags so they are ready to use).
-1 c. salsa
-1/2 c. brown sugar add more to taste if needed
-corn tortillas ( I like to butter the tortilla and heat in a skillet. Yummy!)
-cheese, sour cream, salsa, lettuce, or whatever toppings you like
Heat chicken, salsa and brown sugar in a sauce pan and serve on your favorite tortilla.

Crock Pot Brown Sugar Chicken
I am getting tired of my old stand by recipes so I decided to do some searching and I found this recipe. Very easy and very yummy.
Ingredients:
-6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, frozen
-1 c. br. sugar
-1 can sprite
-2/3 apple cider vinegar
-3 cloves garlic, minced
-2 Tbsp. soy sauce (La Choy is gluten free)
1/4 tsp. black pepper
I know this sounds sweet, but it is really good.
Place chicken in the crockpot, mix rest of ingredients in a bowl and pour mixture over chicken. Cook 6-8 hours and serve over rice.
Want thicker sauce to serve over rice? Add 2 Tbsp. of cornstarch to 1/2 c. water and mix together. Remove cooked chicken from crockpot and add cornstarch mixture. Stir together, remove crockpot from the base and place in the microwave. Cook for 5-7 minutes and you will have thicker, yummy sauce to serve over your rice.
